Adam Boyd，1993年出生于英国Newcastle-under-Lyme，本科毕业于格拉斯哥艺术学院，后于2022年毕业于伦敦斯莱德艺术学院（Slade）。同时，他也是2022年度New Contemporaries大奖得主。

在令人眼花缭乱充满了荧光色彩和夸张形态的当代艺术圈里，Boyd的作品并不惹眼，甚至在色调上有些暗淡和单调。但一旦走近他的作品便能发现他的作品充满了细节——不同肌理之间的碰撞、不同媒介的来回跨越。

在日常生活中艺术家常会被易变和空灵这些难以捕捉的性质所打动，这些性质从本质上来说是一种非物质性。概括的来讲，Boyd的艺术实践便是去捕捉然后实体化这种非物质性。为了打到这种目的，他倾向使用偏手工艺的媒介，如缝纫、拼贴、毛毡等。

Boyd对于非物质性的切入点是当城市环境被过滤或折射后渗透到家庭/室内环境中的瞬间。同时，艺术家的研究围绕艺术史和流行文化的交点展开，对他来说，这些内容隐藏着更广泛的哲学和科学辩论的痕迹。Boyd对科幻文学和电影有着浓厚的兴趣，它们也影响了艺术家对于超现实和未来主义图像的审美倾向。Boyd曾说他希望自己的作品可以是一个不同想法和媒介的试验台，艺术家的一切想法和作画过程都在这里进行互动和萌芽。

Boyd的艺术实践始于他的数码摄影，然后以独特的方式和工艺将这些摄影作品转移到毛毡或布料上。传统的毛毡和缝纫工艺与3D打印和激光雷达扫描等高科技技术结合，Boyd的实践站在传统和未来中间来回移动，不再属于时空中的某个静点，提供了一种历时（Synchronic）角度和思维方式来看待历史更迭。对于艺术家来说，这些作品是他找寻过去、现在、未来平衡的一种途径。
